Critics contend the legislation would spend federal money on undocumented immigrants at the expense of American citizens, and that the bill would encourage illegal immigration. They also argue that citizens and residents would be forced to compete with undocumented immigrants for spots in college and university classes.

Well, well! Isn’t that another ‘kick-in-the-ass’ for the law abiding citizens of the U.S.?

  1. HI Liz I came by to see if you had posted anything in here. I was thinking the reason we have the swine flu is from all the porkulous spending, plus Obama recently went to Mexico! just kidding. Have to amuse myself some how. The 100th day press conference was so boring tonight. Good grief!

  2. Hi Liz, my husband works for GM. I am wondering how this new development is going to effect us. I’m so tired of the news and what is going on. I think the goverment should be only working 2 days a week, there is so many things going on who can keep up! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  3. What we have is mass sacrifice we give up everything so the government can take control of us in every single way. Bringing all these illegals in will insure that one party stays in control and we all will pay for a one party system. We will pay in more ways then with just $ but also loss of jobs and loss of freedoms as well. I almost just cannot read the news anymore. It just makes me sick.

  4. Apparently, it is the nature of government to go waaay too far.

I don’t have children. I pay without objection taxes that support schools because I believe it is to my benefit to live in an educated society.

I have never objected to children, no matter who their parents are, attending public school because I believe in the principle that a child should not be punished for the actions of their parents.

This legislation is stupid and ignores the fundamental question, sweeping it away with a broom made with thousand dollar bills. Children of illegal aliens who are here reach a point where they have been here for too many of their formative years to be considered from the other country. If you come here with your parents when you are three, and your parents are deported when you are 10, you are going to a country that from your perspective you’ve never really been to. Fortunately, your parents will be there to help you acculturate.

But we can’t have that discussion, which would actually be a meaningful discussion about children.
