Certain upscale companies, labor union chapters, large corporations, financial firms and local governments etc. need waivers for Obamacare because it will cost them too much to meet the law’s first year requirements. Pelosi’s district received 20% of these approved 1,372 waivers issued already, whereas 90% were issued in May alone.
The one-year waivers are designed to prevent significant premium increases or an erosion of coverage. Businesses that apply for the waivers are saying they would either have to pass the costs of the premiums on to their customers or drop coverage.
The waivers don’t allow a company to permanently refrain from implementing Obamacare’s stipulations, but companies can reapply for waivers annually through 2014. Read more: The Daily Caller
Whether Nancy Pelosi had influence or not over Healthcare reform waivers is irrelevant to me. Just the mere fact that there are these waivers tells me that these enterprises, unions, etc. found out just what is in the bill (Remember when Pelosi said we needed to pass the ObamaCare bill to find out what was in it?) and don’t like it-especially in her Congressional District.
I wonder how many loopholes are in this bill for those with the right connections-the favored few-while the rest of us will have to open our wallets to legalized robbery?
